The Sunflowers

van goghs sunflowers

The Sunflowers stand, some proudly with upright stems, others forlorn with weeping heads, some with pupil-eyed Centre’s stare, while the pom-pom like hybrids are of full compact petals, their leaves mostly lost. Those Wavering in their struggle to survive are still of optimistically cheerful colour. The whole gathered combination signifying their unified strength, their characteristic display, with varying shades of gold, capture the life in death of the cut flower, they still live on.
